Lake Houston is the ideal place to live if you love water sports and fishing. Lake Houston is located between the suburbs of Humble,Kingwood, and Atascocita on the west bank, and Crosby-Huffman on the east bank. The lake also spans along F.M.1960.

The lake is man-made. It started out as a reservoir in 1953 when the City of Houston built a dam to replace Sheldon Lake. It has come a very long way since then.. Now it is the popular destination for recreational activities. Also located just off the west bank is Alexander Duessen Park,named after the geologist Alexander Duessen.Duessen Park has been and still is  a popular destination for summer family reunions,fishing adventures,and water sports for many families for many years. I grew up going there practically every weekend with my grandfather and family. He was a avid fisher and boater!

Lake Houston is now a very popular destination kids of all ages to let their hair down and just have fun. There is always a lot going on. Fishing,boating,water and jet skiing are regular activities for many of us Lake Houston Residents. I am a Realtor, and Lake Houston Resident.
